This book intertwines stories from the Bible and recent history to illustrate the redemptive power of forgiveness, the restorative power of God’s justice, and the Good News of reconciliation. Books are provided.
Taste and See: February 23, March 9, 17, 24, 31, April 7
For Lent, we’ll be meeting on Tuesday* evenings for the Taste and See study at the church. This is an exciting study that looks at scripture through the creativity of food. Individuals are also responsible for buying the book Taste and See by Margaret Feinberg in order to participate. Ebooks are available on Cokesbury for $8 or you can find a used book on sites like Thriftbooks for a little less. If you need help purchasing, just reach out to Mackalyn, mfiggins@mentorumc.org for more. This study includes optional field trips. See schedule below.

Disclaimer from Margaret Feinberg: “I know that food is a source of pain for many of us. I’ve struggled with eating disorders and disordered eating throughout my life, and I hope you will be sensitive to those who wrestle with these and other food-related issues as well. Some days I think I am the last person who should be exploring food and the Bible. Yet the more I study, the more I am convinced that God wants to redeem food just as he is redeeming us.”
As we enter the season of Lent, Mentor United Methodist Church will begin hosting Wednesday night dinners starting February 25. These meals are a cherished time of fellowship, reflection, and community.
