Christmas Cantata
The MUMC Christmas Cantata will take place on Sunday, December 13th at 11 AM in the Sanctuary. Join us in person or online for a fantastic presentation.
Blue Christmas
Join us on Wednesday, December 16th for a meaningful service for those grieving this holiday season. All are welcome to join us in the Chapel at 5 PM.
Prelude to Christmas
Each year, our Charter Member Men’s Choir, along with members of the men’s choirs from Painesville & Chardon United Methodist, present an evening of the Christmas story told through scripture and song. Join us on Friday, December 18th in the Sanctuary at 7 PM for a special service that includes candle lighting during the singing of “Silent Night”.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
Join us on Thursday, December 24th for four different Christmas Eve Service options. All are candlelight.
Gift of Time
The annual “Gift of Time” is a Saturday afternoon of free childcare for families at Mentor UMC. Children may come to the church for holiday fun from 1 PM to 4 PM while parents & guardians take a break, get a nap in, or get their Christmas shopping done. Register online or reach out to Pastor Tammy. Youth & Young Adults are encouraged to help with childcare (this is a great way to get service hours or childcare experience).
Christmas Play: On Christmas Day in the Morning
MUMC’s Truth & Light Players present On Christmas Day in the Morning on Friday, December 11th at 7 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Tickets on sale soon! All sales go back into the theatre program at the church.
Youth Group
Join us for Youth Group on Sunday, December 27th at 4 PM for devotion time and learning a life skill. Bev Lee will teach about table setting and etiquette. All students in grades 6-12 are welcome. Youth Group is on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Christmas Caroling
Youth & Young Adults are invited to Christmas Carol with us in the neighborhood around the church on Sunday, December 20th at 5 PM.
Brews & Bibles
All adults are welcome to join us for “Brews & Bibles” on Tuesday evenings at 6 PM. We’ll meet on November 24th, December 1st, 8th, and 15 at a different holiday bar each week. The book we will discuss is Light of the World by Amy-Jill Levine. You can learn more and purchase the book online here. Reach out to Mackalyn Figgins for questions.

The United Women in Faith invite you to their monthly luncheon on the second Wednesday of the month at noon in the Gallery. Join us on December 9th for a special holiday lunch. More details soon.
More Than a Meal
Every month on the last Saturday, MUMC hosts a free community meal at 5:30 PM (doors open at 5) in the Gallery. All are welcome to join us for dinner & dessert this holiday season!
MUMC will once again host a FREE Thanksgiving Day Dinner on Thursday, November 26th from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. We feed hundreds in the community every year. Our hope is that you can join us for this meal or help us prepare it. All are welcome.
To receive a meal, CALL the church office to RSVP for dine-in or request carry-out or delivery (Lake Co only). Please call the church office to RSVP, as emails sometimes get lost: 440.255.3496. Office hours are 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

Mentor UMC is looking for a Lead Facility Specialist. The individual in this position will be uniquely responsible for the upkeep, care, and maintenance of Mentor UMC and the equipment in the facility. The Lead Facility Specialist serves the members of Mentor UMC as the primary contact person among congregational members, community members, and business affiliates relative to the facility and maintenance matters of the Church.
This is a FULL TIME position. Typical hours are 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week. Hours may vary based on Church events.

Now’s your chance to do some cleaning out before the holidays. We are looking for donations of small appliances, pots & pans, bakeware, kitchen items, knick-knacks, crystal, dishes, jewelry, etc. (It’s like a mini-rummage sale). Bring your items to the church the week of November 2nd.
COUNTRY CUPBOARD
Keep us in mind as you gather in your fall harvest and prepare home pickles, jellies, applesauce, etc. Donations of homemade baked goods, snacks, candies or any of your homemade specialties are needed. Items can be left in the church kitchen beginning Wednesday, November 4th.
MUM Women of Faith CRAFT ROOM
Your donations of handmade arts & crafts – ornaments, wreaths, knitted/crocheted items, potholders, table runners, etc. Whatever your talent is. Donations can be brought to the church the week of November 2nd.

The November menu will feature cheddar broccoli soup, cherry banana bread, salad, and pumpkin caramel blondies.
This month’s program is “Soul Care for the Holidays (and Beyond!).” Join us for a brief “how-to” on making small, deliberate choices to protect your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being so you can give from a place of fullness rather than total exhaustion. There will also be an opportunity to offer a monetary gift to our annual World Thank Offering. We will dedicate that offering to be used for United Women in Faith’s worldwide mission efforts.

Join us at Mentor UMC on Sunday mornings for Chapel worship at 9:15 AM. This is a great service for early risers who enjoy the traditional style of worship with liturgy and hymns. The sermons for this service will be streamed into the Chapel from the 9 AM service. All other elements are live and in person.
