All are encouraged to participate in a StrengthsFinder study in October. This is a study that helps individuals identify and learn more about their top strengths. Understanding our strengths will embolden us to work better together as friends, family members, church members, and followers of Christ. There is an orientation on Sunday, September 21st from 2 to 4:30 PM at MUMC with Rev. Terry McHugh. The study will be on Wednesday nights in October (5 nights) from 6:30-8:00 PM.

ALL are invited to join the first Book Club meeting at MUMC on Friday, September 26th at 4 PM. We’ll meet to discuss scheduling and, of course, books.
This group is discussion-based and will feature books or readings from all persuasions. For now, we’re sharing individual reads but may do a group read in the future.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2025 will be held at Lake Farm Park on Saturday, September 27th, 2025. This year our team goal is to raise $2,000. All Journey groups & committees are encouraged to walk as part of Team MUMC. If you cannot join us, consider clicking the link below to donate.

Haunted Winery
NEW! This monthly event is open to all and FREE! Join us in the Gallery at MUMC for food, fellowship, and fun from 5:30 to 7 PM every second Thursday of the month beginning September 11th. We’ll eat from 5:30 PM to 6 PM then enjoy different programming (fun) each month. If you are in choir or a committee, feel free to have dinner with us then meet with your group! RSVP online here.
Schedule for 2025:
Enjoy a Hot Dog bar with toppings, Chips, carrots & celery with ranch dip, ice cream cups with wooden spoons, popcorn on the tables, and Gluten free buns. There is also a vegetarian hot dog! After the dinner, we’ll play a game/activity and enjoy a bit of scripture.
Enjoy a Burrito Bowl and taste testing various fruits connecting to each virtue of the Fruit of the Spirit. These virtues are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Enjoy Pizza, salad, and Charlie Brown Thanksgiving dinner on the tables (buttered toast, popcorn, pretzel sticks, and jelly beans).

Join Pastor Tammy and others on a day trip to the Charles Wright Museum in Detroit on Saturday, November 1st. We will meet at Mentor UMC at 7:15 AM, leave at 7:30 AM, and arrive around 10:50 AM at the Charles Wright Museum. Please bring a packed lunch to eat prior to touring the museum starting at 11:45 AM. We will leave the museum at 3:00 PM arrive approximately at 6:20 PM at Mentor UMC. RSVP online here.
Your support is needed! One of our students, Jack Cuff, is raising money for a project through the Eagle Scouts to build a Prayer Sanctuary at Mentor UMC. The money raised would go directly toward the purchases of material for the project, and any additional funds will go directly towards the needs of the church. This free afternoon of fun will be on Saturday, August 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. We will have Pelican Snow Cones along with an inflatable bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, and dunk tank.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Pastor Tammy has games for people to run, or you can just be present to show hospitality towards those attending. The idea is to share the love of Jesus with anyone who attends. Let’s celebrate as Mentor United Women in Faith kicks off another season of luncheons! The menu includes tomato tortellini soup, cheesy garlic bread, salad, and chocolate chip brownies.
