Are you a visitor, regular attender, or just someone who wants to know more about Methodism? At Mentor UMC, we are blessed to provide various opportunities so that we can grow with one another in faith. You can attend a New Beginnings class to learn more about Mentor UMC and membership as well as attend upcoming luncheons or coffee/tea times. See the offerings below for more information on how to get involved.
New Beginnings is more than a class — it’s an open invitation to explore faith, community, and belonging at Mentor United Methodist Church. Whether you are ready to join, still discerning, or simply curious, this is a safe and welcoming space to ask questions and discover what it means to be part of the Methodist tradition and our church family.
Upcoming Classes:
• Saturday, September 12nd, 1:00-3:30 PM
• Thursday, September 17th, 6:30-8:00 PM
RSVP online here for any of the classes above. You only need to attend ONE class.
This class is designed for those who want clarity without pressure. It’s about starting fresh, finding your place, and experiencing the joy of community.
Together, we’ll explore:
• What is Methodism? Learn about the history, beliefs, and practices that shape our faith.
• What is membership? Understand the meaning of belonging, commitment, and shared discipleship.
• Why be a member? Discover how membership connects you to a community that supports,
encourages, and grows together in Christ.
At Mentor UMC, we believe New Beginnings are rooted in a life together where we:
• Love boldly by welcoming all people with grace and compassion
• Serve joyfully by sharing our gifts in ways that uplift and transform lives
• Lead courageously by living out our faith with hope and conviction
Whether you’re seeking connection, exploring your next step, or simply wondering what it means to belong, New Beginnings is your opportunity to grow deeper in faith and closer to God—while discovering a spiritual home that celebrates you as part of the family.
On New Member Sundays, we celebrate our new class of members by recognizing you in worship with prayer and a certificate. The opportunities are as follows:
• Sunday, September 20th, 7:30 AM at the Lake, 9:00 and 11:00 AM at church
• Sunday, October 11th, 9:00 and 11:00 AM at church
Join us for a luncheon to meet pastors & church friends then learn a bit about the church and membership. This is a free event hosted by the church. ALL dietary restrictions will be accommodated. Get in touch with Chris Fletcher or a Pastor for details and requests. RSVP for lunch online here.
Upcoming Luncheons are as scheduled:
• Sunday, August 30th – 12:30-1:45 PM

This monthly event is open to all and FREE!
Join us in the Gallery at MUMC for food, fellowship, and fun from 5:30 to 7 PM every second Thursday of the month. We’ll eat from 5:30 PM to 6 PM then enjoy different programming (fun) each month. If you are in choir or a committee, feel free to have dinner with us then meet with your group! RSVP online here.
Join us at 5:30 for a Back-to-School meal with family and friends. After, you are welcome to stay for the 7 PM Chapel Service.
